Change Player Size Watch this video in a new windowPakistani Musicians Speak Out Against the US- Not The Taliban

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzbO_C7a9Ww

Please view the video in the above link, its a documentary done by newyork times, the biggest global name in the related industry!

The way they have tried to portray the views of Ali Azmat and a few other musicians leads the viewer to believe that the moderate educated youth of Pakistan is Pro Taliban and anti US. It is a totally wrong interpretation of what our pop stars are trying to convey. Even our lowest grade evening newspaper could have given a better narrative then this.

Our point of view is that don't take us for being pro Taliban! we have the vision to go deeper into the issue. Talibans are the puppets being used by the lobby working against Pakistan's interest and destroying the puppets will only stop the implementation of the plan until new puppets have been manufactured by the master of the puppets! We have to go deeper and solve the issue with the forces on whose direction these puppets act.

Yes Talibans are just ONE of the issues our country is facing, and getting them out of the way will only make sure Talibans do not terrorise us in the future, but what is the guarantee that the Anti Pakistan Lobby will not find a new group to carry out their plans of destabilizing the country?

As in every problem that arises, after taking immediate rectifying steps you have to address the root cause, but it seems one thing that these forces have succeeded in achieving is that they have occupied the government so much in addressing the day to day terrorist activities that no one in the higher ranks have been able to seriously figure out the root cause of the issue and address it.

I am doing a lot in my capacity

Stand up and be counted!

All of them stood up on their seats and waited to be counted, no one dares to walk out and actually see if there is some one to count even or who will count them and what is his credibility?

Our youth has been nurtured to a point where no one is ready to take the lead! its not that they are afraid to lead, they are just not able to comprehend that some one as normal as them, or as ordinary as them can also be a leader. The term leader in Pakistan is unfortunately been used in a very different context, Leaders in our country means Landlords and Feudal.

Those who should have been by now the richest and most efficient producers of rice, wheat, sugar, cotton etc had such a tunnel vision that instead of excelling in their business and industry they ventured into politics and the result?? Inefficient agriculturists and inefficient politicians! We have to import rice, wheat and sugar etc and political policies too, if not politicians themselves.

Hence, whenever some one speaks about "find a leader from yourselves," our middle/upper middle class youth never feels that is has the required credentials for the post because in the subconscious mind the image of a leader is someone who had a titanium spoon in his mouth at the time of birth.
The people with a soft corner for Pakistan and about the nation always have a sentence to make them feel that they have done a lot for their country by saying "we are doing a lot in our capacity, we make sure we don't litter on streets and we also reach office on time." It has to be noted by everyone that at this junction of history we can not afford self centered soldiers! Doing good for yourself is excellent but in a scenario where every thing is stabilized, functioning smoothly and well set, because doing the best in your own capacity will mean that you are making sure that the systems are maintained standards don't fall.
We are in a state of position where extra steps need to be taken, where only a self centered approach wont work! We have to come out of our skins and work collectively in the same direction so that the generation after us can make sure that "just doing a lot in their capacity" will be good enough to ensure prosperity of the nation.
And to achieve what has been said in the para above we have to find new leadership and join the few existing leaders who have a vision for the nation and who just did not join politics to ensure that imports of sugar can be banned whenever they want so that their stock from sugar mills sells at double the prices or they can acquire state owned land at 5% of its market value.

Introduction

Hello everyone,

Let me take this chance to introduce myself and the Youth Parliament's Political wing, functioning from Karachi, Pakistan.

Youth Parliament is a NGO, initiated by the youth based TV anchor Rizwan Jaffer, with the following objectives:

  • Inspiring the youth to discover & explore their potentials to become distinguished individuals.

  • Bring various culture, religion and political backgrounds at one platform and have a dialogue to create harmony peace among them.

  • Focusing on freedom of expression, where you can expose yourselves, share your views, your experiences; enrich ideas on national and international level.

  • Probe the issues & provide the best solution to higher government authorities.

Youth Parliament has a 2 hour Live TV show on Business Plus which is on air on Saturday 7pm and repeats on sunday 9pm. This is where most of issues are taken up and a panel from our members sits and discusses the topic with Renowned Politicians, Social personalities and other various people who are influential and related to the topic under discussion.

Besides the TV show, Youth Parliament holds various conventions and other events and has been helping out the provincial government with its events regularly specially the Ministry of Youth affairs.

The Political Wing of this Youth Parliament of which i happen to be the Chairman, is working towards creating a liason between poltics, political parties and the youth. With student politics being in a shape that it is, much like lollywood if i may say, and the perception Student Political Parties have amongst the mass youth of the nation it should not come as a surprise that the Youth thinks of Politics as some thing that is far beyond their reach and is something to be taken care of by the elite. Keeping this in my mind the Poltical Wing tries to attarct members who are Politically motivated but have an open mind and a unbiased view. Youth is encouraged to be politcally aware and take active steps like forwarding their opinions or reservations either directly to the concerned ministries, political parties or through the media such as these blogs, tv show and newspapers.

I must take this opportunity to acknowledge the encouragement we have received from the Political Parties and a few Provinvincial Ministries we have been in contact with.

Looking forward to new members and bringing out the voice of youth to you all!

Regards,

Anzer Husain
